MEFO-Vario – Cleaning tray system for maximum flexibility straight from the warehouse

(PresseBox) (Bretten, )
Since parts cleanness has become an important quality and competitive factor, cleaning-friendly component design has been gaining in importance. The new MEFO-Vario tray system from Metallform Wächter GmbH allows reliable and cost-effective monitoring of the achievable cleanness early on during the prototype or pilot series stage. The system has been designed in such a way that new and parts-specific cleaning trays can be easily created from just a few standard components and without the need for tools. This makes MEFO-Vario the ideal tray system for all manner of cleaning jobs, including small batches.

Ever stricter cleanness requirements are being placed on precision parts. Cleaning tests with prototypes, sample parts and pilot series are therefore vital in the run-up to series production. The results from such tests offer optimisation potential in terms of parts design and also highlight the best cleaning box design for later use in series production. Yet this all requires the samples to be cleaned in a tray compartment designed to fit the parts in question. Up to now this has often been expensive and time-intensive. The new flexible MEFO-Vario tray system from Metallform Wächter GmbH represents a cost-effective solution that adapts to fit new parts both quickly and without the need for tools. MEFO-Vario is used in combination with the company's MEFO-Box transport and cleaning basket.

Simple handling and high degree of flexibility straight from the warehouse
The tray system developed by the specialists in tailor-made cleaning boxes consists of a base frame with lased grid, compartment separators, distance bolts and a supporting lid. The manufacturer maintains a stock of these standard components, which ensures fast availability. To assemble the parts-specific compartment bottoms, the compartment separators are simply laid into the grid of the base frame and fixed in position using a ball latch. Various levels can be assembled using the distance bolts. These spacers can be supplied as standard in 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mm and can also be adapted to individual height requirements. The tray system is positioned in the MEFO-Box and then equipped with parts.

The new MEFO-Vario also offers advantages for companies that produce various different parts in small series. And the simple handling allows workpiece-specific compartment bottoms to be adjusted in no time.

High grade processed stainless steel
Like all Metallform's cleaning boxes, the new MEFO-Vario is produced from stainless steel rods. This high-grade material guarantees a long service life of the tray systems, rules out any soiling of the component from the workpiece holder and prevents corrosion and zinc deposits in the cleaning tanks. The use of rods also reduces the contact surfaces, improves accessibility for the cleaning fluid and optimises draining behaviour. The finish of the MEFO-Vario has been engineered down to the finest detail. All components are blunted. There are no sharp edges or burrs, so filling and emptying the boxes is completely safe. The surfaces are electrolytically polished. And for cleaning particularly sensitive parts, any surfaces that come into contact with the parts can be optionally halar coated. Special Teflon clips are also available for component protection. They allow targeted encapsulation of the compartment separator areas that come into contact with the workpiece.
