transport logistic China 2010 provides access to rapidly growing Asian market

(PresseBox) (München, )
Messe München is expecting several national pavilions at the fourth transport logistic China 2010, Asia's most important exhibition for logistics, telematics and transport. Besides the German pavilion, which is being sponsored by Germany's Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and Russia will also have joint exhibits at the fair. transport logistic China and the integrated exhibition Air Cargo China are being held in Shanghai from June 8 – 10, 2010.

The upward trend that is already clearly noticeable in China means plenty of business opportunities for logistics and transport specialists. According to a recent report by the Chinese Ministry of Trade, overall import and export volume in China reached 200 billion US dollars (133 billion euros) in July of this year. Exports are expected to continue growing during the second half of 2009. Following a period of sluggish growth during the first half of the year, growth during the third quarter of 2009 was 8.9 percent, signalling a return to the growth rates of previous years. Economics experts agree: China is and shall remain a growth market. "China has bloomed into a market of the future with potential in the billions, and German industry wants to secure itself a piece of the pie," explains Michael Kubenz, Vice President of the Association of German Freight Forwarders and Logistics Operators (DSLV) and Chairman of the transport logistic Advisory Board. And logistics companies are at the forefront of that development.

China has the third-largest economy and is the third-largest trading nation in the world, although it is also the largest threshold nation experiencing economic growth. Experts expect the People's Republic take Germany's place as the world's leading exporter in 2009. For example, European-Chinese trade has increased more than thirty-fold since the market was liberalized in 1978. Kubenz views that as an opportunity for the German logistics sector. "There is still a chronic shortage of storage space and suitable transportation capacities," he says. "Experts are needed everywhere, be it to set up efficient cargo networks or establish entire logistics parks, but also to control logistics chains from China to Europe and vice-versa."

However, companies need plenty of reliable contacts to do business. To gain access to the market, Germany companies – including small and medium-sized enterprises – can exhibit at transport logistic China 2010 at affordable rates by participating in a joint exhibit sponsored by Germany's federal government. The German pavilion is part of the Foreign Exhibitions Program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology (BMWi) – a program that the DSLV applied for for a third time based on its success. The advantage for participating companies is that they do not have to plan, design or build their own stands, but they still enjoy all of the attention generated by the "Made in Germany" CI concept.

Exhibiting companies also get a comprehensive overview of the transport and logistics market in China and gain access to the very promising Chinese market. Kubenz: "Participating in an exhibition in this manner is also helpful for Chinese companies that want to partner with German companies. After all, Chinese companies rely on cooperation partners in other countries to help them establish themselves on world markets – and the German logistics industry plays a key role in that process."
