CERAMITEC 2009: Higher level of registrations than in 2006

The countdown is running – in just over a month from now, between 20 and 23 October, the ceramic industry will be meeting up in Munich at CERAMITEC, 11th International Trade Fair for Machinery, Equipment, Plants, Processes and Raw Materials for CERAMICS and POWDER METALLURGY. The positive trend of recent weeks has continued: more exhibitors have now registered for the trade fair than for the last event in 2006, when 612 companies took part. In this tougher economic climate this is indeed impressive proof of the strong position of CERAMITEC within the sector.

This not only puts the organisers of the event in an optimistic mood, the exhibitors, too, see great potential in this year’s fair: "CERAMITEC is one of the most important platforms for presenting innovations and new products in the ceramics sector. As one of the largest and most innovative suppliers in the field of thermal analysis, we feel confident that for our business development, too, CERAMITEC will deliver much new impetus," said Dr Jürgen Blumm, Managing Director of NETZSCH-Gerätebau GmbH, responsible for sales, marketing and applications.
Matthias Uhl, Managing Director of Riedhammer GmbH, also values the platform provided for his corporate group by CERAMITEC: "We see CERAMITEC as an excellent tool for presenting ourselves within the framework of the SACMI Group and Team Alliance as a competent supplier of system solutions." And Cyprien Maugras, Marketing & Strategy Manager at Imerys Kiln Furniture adds: "CERAMITEC is a key event to present new solutions for our current businesses and also to introduce products for new markets."

Taking part in trade fairs has a special role here: "In particular in tough economic times, it is very important to take part in trade fairs to maintain existing contacts and acquire new contacts," says Günther Schmidt, Managing Partner at Stephan Schmidt KG. It is a view also shared by Dr.-Ing. Michael Zins, Managing Partner at TASK GmbH/Treffpunkt Keramik and Deputy Director of the Fraunhofer IKTS: "For us trade fairs are core business. Such events are the place from which networks emerge, form and expand. Particularly as regards cooperation in periods of crisis, meetings and one-to-one talks are extremely important."

In addition to all these points, the broad international scope of CERAMITEC is also a key factor for many exhibitors: "it is really important to find new contacts and to speak with people coming from all over the world. In the past CERAMITEC was a very international trade fair and we hope to meet up with these target groups again this year," said Gianni Barucco, from the Sales Department at Bongioanni Macchine S.p.A.
