(PresseBox) (Erfurt, )
With entries from 9 different countries, the 3D Pioneers Challenge, part of the Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D trade fair and conference, has attracted an impressive global response. The design competition for additive manufacturing processes aims to attract international participants from the worlds of design, architecture, automotive, fashion and medicine, who are breaking new ground with 3D printing and picking up on the latest trends and ideas. Prize money for the 3D Pioneers Challenge is 15,000 euros in total, awarded across all categories.

"We've been particularly impressed with the high quality of entries from Germany, France, Hungary, the UK, the US, Israel, the Netherlands, Austria and Serbia, as well as with their diversity," said judging panel member Joachim Stumpp from the Stuttgart materials agency, raumPROBE.

The 11-member international judging panel has now shortlisted 29 entries for the final in Erfurt, where the winners will be announced on 15 June 2016. All the finalists' submissions will also be exhibited at Rapid.Tech + FabCon 3.D from 14 to 16 June 2016 in Erfurt. The winning exhibits will then embark on an international road show.

The competition is organised by Messe Erfurt, in collaboration with the design and consultancy firm d.sign21.
