Call for Papers for International Bauhaus.SOLAR Congress 2011

Call for papers runs until 15th April 2011

(PresseBox) (Erfurt, )
There is a general consensus in society, politics and the economy that energy supplies will be notably powered by renewable energies in the future. On 4th February this year, the European Head of States invoked greater energy efficiency particularly in the building sector once again at the energy summit. The discussion about the innovative, aesthetic influence of energy related components on architecture and town planning is a focal point at the International Bauhaus.SOLAR Congress. Speakers may submit papers by 15th April.

"Now it is a matter of taking action," calls Dr. Hubert Aulich, chief executive of the Thuringian sector network SolarInput, "because what we need for sustainable energy use- especially in the building sector - is largely available: we have the technology and the fundamental willingness in society!" To ensure that the implementation of solar building will become ubiquitous, a rethinking among product developers and in architecture is particularly necessary in particular. Prof. Dr. Gerd Zimmermann, Rector of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, stresses: "In aesthetical and functional terms, the potential of building integrated solar energy retrieval is largely unexploited. We have to move away from simple applications. What we need are new building and town concepts."

The Congress assists interdisciplinary dialogue and calls on planners, architects, civil engineers, technicians, designers and users as well as representatives of the solar, property and financial industries to present ground-breaking concepts, projects and research papers. For the 4th International Bauhaus.SOLAR Congress 2011, papers and (research projects) about the following topics can be submitted until 15th April:
- Architecture and solar components
- Local energy supply and networks
- Energy efficient building and redevelopment
- Property industry and lifecycles (energy considerations)
- Landscape architecture and energy systems
- Town development and sociological change
- Legal and economic considerations The Congress is a joint project between the SolarInput Association, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Thuringian Energy und GreenTech-Agency (ThEGA) . From year to year, the Bauhaus.SOLAR Congress is gaining increasing prominence: the number of participants, exhibitors and the media echo has rocketed over the past few years. This year, the two day event is expected to have around 400 international visitors.
