Road Safety Always Comes First

MEKRA Lang to present a number of innovations at the Agritechnica 2019

(PresseBox) (Ergersheim, )
MEKRA Lang, your global expert and partner for indirect vision systems, will present innovative vision solutions for all types of agricultural machines at the Agritechnica 2019 which starts in Hannover on November 10th.

Your Safety Partner
From initial conceptualization to full-scale systems integration, MEKRA Lang lends its expert support to manufacturers to increase on- and off-road safety for drivers and all other road users. MEKRA Lang’s comprehensive portfolio of solutions ranges from innovative mirrors and the latest assistance systems to complete digital surround view and mirror replacement systems.

Innovative Mirror Solutions
Mirror systems by MEKRA Lang are characterized by continued improvements and superior quality. These customizable solutions provide reliable support for drivers in all traffic situations. Combining mirrors with various mounting bracket options provides manufacturers with the opportunity to configure customized applications for each vehicle type.

Innovative improvements enhance the field of vision that used to be provided by traditional mirrors. For example, the driver’s field of vision can be ergonomically expanded by integrating configurable camera modules with the modular mirror 1009.

Thanks to the extremely robust design of our mirror and mounting systems, the final products are able to withstand even the harshest of environmental conditions.

Ergonomic Support
As vehicles keep getting bigger due to the increasing number of tasks they have to perform, drivers have to deal with more visibility limitations than ever before. This is where MEKRA Lang’s portfolio of cutting-edge environmental detection systems come to the rescue.

Our cross-traffic camera monitor system (Q-KMS) features cameras that can be used anywhere on the vehicle to provide convenient cross-traffic visibility while complying with all the relevant legal regulations. Housed in rugged enclosures, they provide excellent views of hard-to-see intersections at the push of a button, eliminating the need for a signaller.

Thanks to advanced radar technology, the new turn assist system AAS 1312 detects moving road users in a 12m x  6m blind spot area on the passenger’s side when the vehicle is making a right turn. The AAS has been available for retrofitting purposes since April 2019. It is easy to install, has received general operating approval (ABE) in Germany, and finished first in a comparative test performed by the German Automobile Association ADAC.

Digital Surround View
In areas where mirror systems alone are unable to provide sufficient vision, MEKRA Lang’s new digital surround-view system enhances visibility around the vehicle and complements the mirror systems perfectly. The combination of advanced touchscreen monitors and a variety of digital cameras in accordance with each vehicle’s requirements, produces a system that provides 360° vision and uses various vehicle signal triggers to respond effectively to different traffic situations, e.g. switching to the side view camera when an alarm is triggered by the turn assist system, or automatic activation of the full rear-view camera image when backing up.

Mirror of the Future
In 2018 MEKRA Lang set the stage for the future of indirect vision by introducing its Digital VisionSystem (DVS). It has already been successfully launched for use in trucks and features innovative camera modules with ergonomically positioned monitors replacing traditional exterior mirror systems. The DVS is the culmination of MEKRA Lang’s many years of experience and know-how in developing unique mirror systems and its design represents the digital mirror of the future. The HDR cameras’ highly adaptive image processing software provides for an optimized image display under any driving and environmental conditions. With its software- and hardware-based self-monitoring functions, the DVS offers drivers a degree of reliability and safety that is second to none.
