Construction work started recently at MAPAL on extending the administration building at the headquarters in Aalen – an extension made necessary by the company's positive economic development in recent years. The growing demand for precision tools, services and complete solutions led to more than 100 new jobs being created in Aalen last year alone – and the company is still on the lookout for further qualified staff. Of the company's 4,300 employees worldwide, 1,640 are currently employed at the headquarters.
The town council had given the go-ahead for the expansion plans in November last year. One part of the existing two-storey administration building is to be expanded with a further two floors. The two floors will each offer an area of 360 square metres, thus increasing the total area of the administration building from 4,400 square metres to 5,120 square metres. If everything goes to plan, the new offices will be ready for occupation in July. MAPAL is investing around EUR 1.1 million.
The company had already expanded the production and industrial training facilities in 2012.
