In order to satisfy the higher demand, considerable expansion investments are planned for the German sites for 2014. In Eppingen, for example, a complete new works with 7,500 m² is to be built for the production of actuating and ISO special tools. The works in Ehrenfriedersdorf for the production of clamping devices is to be expanded. The production for diamond tools in Pforzheim has also reached its capacity limits and will be significantly expanded, too. As a result, MAPAL has the world's largest PCD production facility. These are in addition to the ongoing investments in new machines to keep productivity and quality at the highest level.
The first five months of the 2014 business year indicate a continuation of the very pleasing development. If this development is maintained in the second half of the year, the MAPAL Group will break the turnover barrier of EUR 500 million in 2014. “That is a quite realistic expectation, as we are seeing an increase in demand in all areas for the innovations presented at the last EMO," says Dr. Dieter Kress.
