Amsterdam/Ludwigsburg, 5th November 2013 - The development of new filtration concepts, the acquisition of companies such as Fluid Brazil and the expansion of the strategic water filtration business sector in the European market are the cornerstones of the MANN+HUMMEL growth strategy in this market segment. This strategy is underscored by the company's renewed participation at the Aquatech in Amsterdam - the world's leading trade fair for process, drinking and waste water technology. Almost 900 exhibitors from over 70 countries, around 21,000 visitors over four days and approximately 150 new product presentations - including PES membrane technology from MANN+HUMMEL - these figures are likely to increase even further at this year's Aquatech trade fair, which takes place every two years. "Because of its strategic importance, the Aquatech provides the ideal platform for presenting our new PES membrane technologies and strengthening our position in the water filtration market," says Patrick Cudmore, Group Vice President Water Filtration at MANN+HUMMEL.
MANN+HUMMEL: Many years of experience and innovation in water filtration
MANN+HUMMEL has accumulated over 70 years of experience in the field of filtration technology. As a global player in water and wastewater treatment, the company develops, manufactures and assembles membranes and membrane systems for water filtration. Highly effective filtration technology from MANN+HUMMEL is used for the pre-treatment and treatment of municipal and industrial process and service water. The company has set itself new challenges with the development of innovative products such as the new PES membrane in order to continuously expand its water filtration product range and application spectrum.
Realising growth potential in the water treatment market
The growing world population, increasing industrialisation, ever more stringent environmental standards and the fact that water is such a scarce resource in so many places will mean even greater demand for clean water in the future. Water treatment with innovative filtration technologies can satisfy this demand while also completing the water cycle and preventing waste. Water filtration is therefore a sustainable growth market. Experts value the global filtration market at around 40 billion euros, some 25% of which lies in the area of water and wastewater treatment - and this trend is growing rapidly. As a filtration specialist, MANN+HUMMEL has the expertise and the technology to realise this market potential and open up new areas of application.
