inter airport Europe 2011 opens its doors in Munich:

This year’s theme: “Inspiring better airports“

St Albans, (PresseBox) - From 11 – 14 October 2011 the world’s leading International Exhibition for Airport Equipment, Technology, Design & Services, inter airport Europe 2011, will open its doors at the Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany. Airport industry professionals from all over the world will come together at this event to discover a comprehensive range of the latest airport equipment and services, whether for terminal, terminal-adjoining facilities, runway, apron or hangar.

With this year’s theme “Inspiring better airports” the show will focus on innovative products and services, such as environment-friendly ground support equipment, automated baggage and freight handling systems, enhanced solutions for security check and explosives detection, optimised check-in systems, information tools for a more enjoyable stay at the airport as well as the latest mobile data solutions for the entire airport.

At this year’s exhibition, a total of 606 exhibitors from 34 countries cover a net exhibition space of 25.850 square metres net. The show has grown by more than 10% compared to the previous edition two years ago. “While two years ago the airport industry was still affected by the global economic crisis, it now seems that there is a certain catch-up effect, and airport operators, once again, invest in new and enhanced airport equipment. Today, the economic outlook for airport operators and manufacturers of airport equipment is certainly more positive again. However, it is rather cautious optimism, as the industry sector strongly depends on the global economic development which has a direct impact on passenger and freight figures,” says Nicola Hamann, Exhibition Director inter airport Europe on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions.

The opening and awards ceremony for inter airport Europe 2011 will take place on Tuesday, 11 October 2011, at 11 am, in the entrance area of the exhibition, entrance Ost (East) of the Munich Trade Fair Centre. Dr. Michael Kerkloh, President and CEO Munich Airport; Dieter A. Heinz, President GATE - German Airport Technology & Equipment, and Stephen Brooks, Chairman Mack Brooks Exhibitions, will address the audience.
