Leading international exhibition for the airport industry sends positive signals for the future

inter airport Europe 2011

(PresseBox) (St Albans, )
The 18th International Exhibition for Airport Equipment, Technology, Design & Services ended with very positive results. A total of 606 exhibitors from 34 countries and more than 12,600 visitors from all over the world attended the leading international exhibition for the airport industry. The show covered a net exhibition space of 25,850 square metres. Compared to the previous exhibition in 2009, this is a substantial growth in both exhibitor and visitor numbers as well as in exhibition space.

“An increase of 5% in visitor numbers and a growth of more than 10% in exhibitor numbers and floor space compared to 2009 is of course a very positive result. We are particularly delighted to be able to say that there was lively trading activity throughout the halls and the outdoor area of the show, and a large number of exhibitors were able to report positive sales figures,” explains Nicola Hamann, Show Director inter airport Europe, on behalf of the organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions.

Renowned as the leading international exhibition and trend barometer for the entire airport industry, this year’s inter airport Europe was regarded as particularly important by the airport community. Following a difficult time, some two or three years ago, the business climate for airport operators and manufacturers of airport equipment is now seen more positive again. This is mainly due to an increase in passenger figures, in particular in the current year.

“We are confident that the good mood at this year’s inter airport Europe sends positive signals for the future of the airport sector. Three years after the global economic crisis the airport industry is able to present itself optimistically, and everyone is hoping that it will carry on in this way,” says Nicola Hamann.

A first analysis of the exhibition survey shows that an absolute majority of exhibitors were highly satisfied with the results of inter airport Europe 2011 and most of this year’s exhibitors are already planning their participation at the next inter airport Europe which is set to take place from 8 – 11 October 2013 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre.

Next events for the airport industry organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions are inter airport China, from 26 - 28 September 2012 at Beijing’s China International Exhibition Centre, and inter airport India, from 11-12 April 2013 at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre in Delhi.
