Leading experts present latest tech transfer trends at IPTEC conference

IPTEC, the international Tech Transfer Marketplace and Conference, held from 11-12 June 2008 in the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, presents some of the world’s leading experts in technology transfer as speakers at the conference.

Organised in association with the international IP magazine “Managing Intellectual Property” the conference comprises key note presentations, case studies and workshops and covers a comprehensive range of topics focussing on this year’s main themes: “The latest transfer trends” and “Techniques and developments in emerging markets, e.g. Asia”.

Frank M. Salzgeber, Head of Technology Transfer at the European Space Agency (ESA) chairs the first day of the event; Mike Shaw, Director of Licensing at Unilever R&D, the second. Case Studies and workshops presenters include: Andrew Sleigh, Chief Technology Officer, QinetiQ, UK on “Alternative routes for monetizing technology”, Zhengping Liu, Deputy General Manager Coway International, China on “Technology transfer in China”, Tim Bernstein, Director Yet2.com, USA on “Technology high interest areas”, Chris Moore, Director Kodak External Alliances, UK on “The path to open innovation” and Marisol Garcia, NASA Advanced Planning and Partnership Office, USA on “Doing deals across sectors”. IPTEC’s participants comprise a mixture of networking partners from multinational corporations, SMEs, universities and research centres, from the following industry sectors: Advanced Materials, Consumer Goods, IT, Medical Technology, Nanotechnology, Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Environmental Technologies. Examples of companies and organisations that participate include Microsoft, Philips, Ericsson, Bayer Innovation, NASA, Stanford University, Enterprise Europe, GlaxoSmithKline, P & G, and many others.

Alongside the conference and exhibition, a series of “New Technology Presentations” will take place within the IPTEC marketplace, where companies, research institutes and universities present their innovative technologies and participants have the chance to discover some of the latest available technological advances.


IPTEC‘s opening hours are Wednesday, 11 June 2008, from 8.30 hrs to 18.00 hrs and Thursday, 12 June 2008, from 8.30 hrs to 17.00 hrs. Participants can pre-register online at www.iptec-marketplace.com. The event may be attended for one or both days. Universities qualify for a reduced participation fee.
