Analytical Solutions for Filtration and Separation Industries made by LUM on 12th World Filtration Congress

12th World Filtration Congress in Taipei from 11-15 April

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
The 12th World Filtration Congress WFC 12 will be held at Taipei International Convention Center (TICC), from 11 till 15 April. WFC12 is organized by the Taiwan Filtration and Separations Society (TFS), Tamkang University (TKU), National Taiwan University (NTU), Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Research Association of Solid–Liquid Separation (RASLS).

As a Berlin based company with strong research activities LUM GmbH is pleased to actively contribute to the success of the event, like in previous WFC being one of the selected sponsors. Together with the organizer LUM welcomes the attendees from all around the world to Taipei.

LUM is market leader for innovative analytical instruments for particle characterization and for direct and accelerated characterization of emulsions and suspensions up to materials testing, like the timesaving determination of adhesion forces and composite strength.

Centrifugal separation, as realized in the instruments LUMiSizer® and LUMiFuge® for analytical evaluation of separation processes, is a major topic on the scientific congress, in session S5 Centrifugal Separation.  Prof. Dr. Dietmar Lerche, Managing Director of LUM GmbH, is invited to present the in situ visualization of separation phenomena at real time under gravity or under higher gravity in fast motion.

New, promising application fields are introduced during sessions M18 Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration and L8 Depth Filtration. The advantages of accelerated analysis of filterability in a photocentrifuge, made by LUM, are subject to a joint contribution by French researchers from Compiègne University of Technology and LUM (M18). Ultrafiltration of Small Semiconductor Nanoparticles by Tailored Surface Properties is discussed by scientists from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) (L8). This extension to LUMiSizer® applications was developed during a joint R&D cooperation; the project was funded by German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

During the exhibition LUM and the Taiwanese partner Lih Yuan will present the entire product portfolio. The Multi-wavelength LUMiReader® PSA, as well as the Dispersion Analyser LUMiSizer® are instruments for the comprehensive understanding of complex industrial products in an easy way, giving particle size distribution, separation velocity distribution and hydrodynamic particle density in addition to the direct stability result.
LUMiReader® X-Ray allows for the space and time resolved determination of concentration profiles for even high concentrated dispersions and sediments by X-Ray-STEP-Technology®.
