Logic Instrument was named the successful bidder by the Systems Integrator Lockheed Martin (40 billions $ and 140 000 persons) for the American military program EPLS. This US Marine Corps program has a total contract value of $144.8 M over the course of two years.
Under this contract, Logic Instrument will deliver up to 7000 of its TetraNote ruggedized notebooks, machines conceived to answer the most demanding constraints of deployed military applications, which will equip up to 7000 Marine Corps vehicles. This contract, of a total amount of up to $20 M, will be delivered in lots over the 2 year period of Lockheed's contract.
This award gives evidence of the considerable potential of the North American market, and validation of the channels set up by Logic Instrument to address it. In 2006 Logic chose to deploy a network of 50 independent representatives, which allows the US operation to have a powerful sales force while controlling its fixed costs.
First application of the partnership with MiTAC
This award is the first realization of the partnership of Logic Instrument and Mitac and illustrates its synergy for military as well as commercial markets.
- MiTAC has powerful production capacity, thanks to three factories installed in Taiwan and in China, allowing both groups to respond to large programs requiring the manufacture of large volumes of product in short periods
- It capitalizes on the power and scope of the worldwide Logic Instrument organization that has become a major player in the Rugged Computers market.
Jacques Gebran, CEO of Logic Instrument, said: "Our partnership with MiTAC confirms the power of combining forces: it is in the strength of both operations that Logic Instrument has won this deal with such a prestigious account as Lockheed Martin"
