Premium textile finishing from LEONHARD KURZ receives OEKO-TEX® certificate

(PresseBox) (Fürth/Germany, )
Even more sustainable, even safer: LEONHARD KURZ sets new standards in textile finishing with its innovative premium products LUXOR®/ALUFIN® TX-A and TX-A ST. The hot-stamping decoration for clothing, accessories, shoes, and home textiles is not only particularly durable and long-lasting, but it is also harmless to health. This is now also confirmed by the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification for product class 1 - the highest and most stringent category that also meets the particularly sensitive requirements for baby products.

“With our new development for the textile sector, we want to take sustainability into account, in particular, and make our contribution to a longer product life cycle,” emphasizes Nicola Bauer, International Product Manager Textiles at KURZ, who also sees increasing demand from manufacturers in this respect. “That’s why we have significantly improved the properties of our textile finishing in terms of resistance to abrasion, washing, and chemical cleaning.” In addition, KURZ wants to ensure even more transparency in the textile supply chain in the future and thus give customers confidence with regard to the raw materials used, as Nicola Bauer elaborates: “That’s why we are now having all our colors gradually certified by OEKO-TEX®.

Strict controls, global responsibility

The tests required for this are very detailed. This means that not only the ingredients of each individual color, but also the operations at the production site in Sulzbach-Rosenberg are closely examined during regular audits and in the annual recertification process. KURZ is also responsible for ensuring that the requirements are implemented identically at all participating locations worldwide. “Such transparency is by no means a matter of course in the industry! It also means a special financial and time investment for us,” explains product manager Nicola Bauer. “But we are happy to accept this. After all, at KURZ we attach great importance to ensuring a high level of security for our customers through the close-knit controls.”

Striking designs thanks to semi-transparent finishing innovation

With the TX-A premium series, KURZ currently has almost 70 different metallized colors for textile finishing in its portfolio. Very special effects and exciting design possibilities can be created with the seven semi-transparent colors under the name LUXOR®/ALUFIN® TX-A ST. In contrast to conventional TX-A products, these special colors are not opaque, which is why the designer benefits from completely new design options and can also play with the colored background in the prints. “With this innovative option for the fashion market, we create versatile new looks and help designers make their collection a must-have,” says Nicola Bauer confidently. “Of course, product safety is our top priority in this area too. All colors in the TX-A ST series are already OEKO-TEX® certified and are thus demonstrably free of substances hazardous to health.”
