Strategic Partnership between LASER COMPONENTS and Polymicro Technologies

Distribution Contract for Optical Fibers

(PresseBox) (Olching, ) LASER COMPONENTS introduces a new partner for optical fibers. Patrick Paul welcomed Polymicro General Manager James P. Clarkin to the company headquarters in Germany for signature of the new distribution contract, which applies to the entire German speaking countries and territories from 01.12.2011.

"We are pleased to have gained one of the leading manufacturers of optical fibers as a new strategic partner" commented Patrick Paul. Part of Molex Fiber Optics, Polymicro Technologies has established a reputation as a market leader in specialty optical fiber technology over more than 25 years, particularly in industrial and medical applications.

"This has significantly enhanced our product portfolio. For example, we are now in a position to offer hollow waveguides designed for CO2 as well as Er:YAG lasers, which helps us increase our potential market. Medical applications also benefit from IR fibers, which can be used to replace expensive articulated beam delivery arms" stated Paul. Further new products will be announced in the coming weeks and months, including UV fibers.
