Um zwei optische Fasern einfach und nicht lösbar miteinander zu verbinden, werden Splice-Techniken verwendet. Bei LASER COMPONENTS erhalten Sie nun das PermalockTM-Kit, in welchem alle benötigten Werkzeuge und Verbrauchsmaterialien enthalten sind. Hierzu gehören ein mit Batterien betriebenes Handheld-Gerät zum Ausrichten und Härten der Faser sowie die Tools zur Verarbeitung der Faser. Das patentierte Design erlaubt die zuverlässige Selbst-Justierung der optischen Faser. Zur Schließung der Faserlücke wird ein "Licht überbrückendes" Gel eingesetzt.

PermalockTM ist ein Splice-Kit was auch den hohen Anforderungen der Luft- und Raumfahrt-Qualifizierung genügt. Erfolgreich wird es ebenfalls im Schiffsbau bzw. in U-Booten eingesetzt, aber auch im Bergbau und bei Kommunikationsnetzwerken. Im Feldeinsatz hat sich das Kit zur Reparatur defekter Faserstrecken bewährt.
