With its Observer Suite, Viavi offers a comprehensive software and hardware solution for package-specific network analyses of fiber optic and copper networks. The network performance monitoring and diagnostics (NPMD) system distributed by LASER COMPONENTS comprises several components that can be used individually or jointly:
  • Observer GigaFlow allows end-to-end evaluation of individual data streams for the first time; therefore, any disruption can be assigned to a specific network level, application, or even end device.
  • Observer GigaStor records and archives the entire operation of an IT network. This data can be used to perform a comprehensive analysis. The user can easily navigate to the point of error and obtain detailed status information at the package level from before, during, and after the event. This enables the user to quickly and accurately identify and locate the cause of the error. The security forensic functions can also be used to determine whether a security breach has occurred, and which resources are affected.
  • The Observer Apex software summarizes the monitoring results in a few clearly understandable performance indicators to also be easily understood and interpreted by IT technicians without in-depth knowledge of fiber optic technology.
The security requirements for telecommunications and data networks are constantly growing. At the same time, digital services are expected to be available with high bandwidth at all times. Only with powerful NPMD solutions such as the Observer Suite can these requirements be met.
