One Optic Working for Two

Beam Splitter for Multiple Wavelengths with Different Polarizations

(PresseBox) (Olching, )
LASER COMPONENTS has developed a beam splitter in which the combined beam of a frequency-doubled laser is split in such a way that 50% of each of the two wavelengths is split off, even if they have different polarizations. The polarization remains the same for both beams. Previously, a beam splitter and a retardation plate were required for this process. The manufacturer from Olching near Munich has now succeeded in combining both functions into one optic. This allows the setup and maintenance of optics to be significantly accelerated in the future.

The original design is for 1030 nm and 515 nm. However, wavelengths, polarization, and reflection/transmission ratio can be individually adapted depending on the application.
