LASER COMPONENTS und Optowell kooperieren seit einigen Jahren; jetzt wurde die gute Zusammenarbeit mit einem exklusiven Vertriebsvertrag für die Region Deutschland besiegelt.

Das koreanische Unternehmen Optowell ist führender Anbieter von GaAs-basierten VCSEL, Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers, von GaAs-PIN-Photodioden, RCLEDs und TOSA/ROSA-Modulen. Die VCSEL werden in zahlreichen Gehäusevarienten geliefert aber auch als Chip. Im Sortiment sind Wellenlängen zwischen 670 nm und 980 nm bei einer Datenrate bis zu 10 GB/s.

Eingesetzt werden die Komponenten in der Telekommunikation und Sensorik, die Anwendungsgebiete umfassen Datenübertragung, Speichernetze, Barcode- und Laser- Scanner/-Drucker, optische Encoder, Positionssensoren, Systeme zur Abstandsmessung, die Lasermaus, digitale Video-Schnittstellen, die Medizintechnik und Systeme zur Blutanalyse.
