Fiber Optic Connector Inspection Goes WiFi
Use Your Smartphone or Tablet PC
To connect WiFi-compatible smartphones or tablet PCs as receiver, AFL Noyes developed a handheld WiFi adapter for the fiber optic microscope FOCIS. This adapter allows the imaging data of the inspected connector surfaces to be comfortably transmitted, displayed, and stored without the need for a separate imaging unit. Three software versions are available: FOCIS WiFi VIEW for quick troubleshooting allows sole imaging. The FOCIS WiFi PLUS software documents the actual state: imaging and storage are possible, as well as immediate forwarding images. FOCIS WiFi PRO can be used for verification tests, the software allows automatic PASS/FAIL analysis e.g., according to IEC 61300-3-35.
The FOCIS WiFi microscope and its software can be obtained from the master distributor LASER COMPONENTS. It is compatible with the iPhone and iPad (iOS7), as well as with Android devices running software that is 2.3.3 or higher.
