LASER COMPONENTS erweitert sein Lieferprogramm des Herstellers Fibercore um Singlemode-Fasern für den Wellenlängenbereich von 488 bis 1625 nm. Die Singlemode-Fasern gibt es vielen Varianten: Zum Beispiel mit Ultra-low Profil oder großen NAs für verbesserte Biegeunempfindlichkeit. Einige Typen verfügen über einen hohen Germanium-Gehalt und damit über die intrinsische Photosensitivität für das Schreiben von Faser-Bragg-Gittern ohne weitere Wasserstoffpassivierung.

Ähnlich vielfältig sind die Anwendungsbereiche. Neben der Telekommunikation eignen sich die Singlemode-Fasern auch für viele andere Laser-Dioden-Pigtails und -Verbindungen, Faser-Bragg-Gitter, Sensorik, Telemetrie, Hydrophone, bio-medizinsiche Anwendungen, Spektroskopie und Raumfahrt.
