Sensor Fabric with Integrated Automatic Shut-down Function

With a special sensor fabric, active protective textiles from JUTEC ensure safety in accordance with DIN EN 60825-4 even in high-power laser applications. The active material is directly connected to the laser’s circuitry via shut-down electronics. When the laser beam hits the fabric, it changes its physical properties thus activating the electronics and switching off the laser.

The active material is surrounded on both sides by a layer of classic passive laser safety fabric. The side facing the laser provides full laser protection even for low intensity beams without activating the protective circuitry. The protective layer facing away from the laser bridges the time gap between the triggering of the stop signal and the absence of laser radiation. The entire protective textile is around 10 mm thick and can be cut to any shape or size. It can thus be flexibly adapted to any room situation.

Active laser safety textiles offer additional protection at high laser powers, which passive safety materials would only be able to withstand for a certain amount of time. The shut-down electronics eliminate this danger. JUTEC laser safety textiles are distributed by LASER COMPONENTS in the German-speaking market.
