“General Maples is one of the leading voices in defense intelligence, and his work for the U.S. Army and as Director of Defense Intelligence is unrivaled,” said Robert Lundy, CEO of Glimmerglass. “There are few individuals who understand intelligence requirements and opportunities better than General Maples. His strategic view further strengthens our advisory board as we continue to invest in and expand our defense, intelligence and law enforcement agency business. We are honored to have him on our board of advisors and look forward to ongoing collaboration.”
Lieutenant General (LTG) Maples served as the 16th Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) from 2005 to 2009. In this role, he was the primary military intelligence advisor to the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During that time he also commanded the Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JFCC-ISR) for the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). Before that, LTG General Maples served as the Vice Director of the Joint Staff.
“Glimmerglass breakthroughs in optical signal management technology are transforming intelligence gathering and distribution capabilities,” said General Maples. “I’m pleased to join the company’s advisory board and participate in the pioneering work Glimmerglass is doing to remotely and instantly enable the configuration of optical paths for mission critical entities and applications. Now that the world is ringed in fiber, and bandwidth requirements and capacity are growing daily, Glimmerglass optical innovations are central to the success of intelligence and defense initiatives.”
