Designed for high-power laser diode temperature control applications: Laser diode thermoelectric chillers by ILX Lightwave

The LDT-53500 Series laser diode thermoelectric chillers released by ILX Lightwave Corp. are designed for high-power laser diode temperature control applications. Two models are available with 185- and 370-W cooling capacity and high temperature stability

(PresseBox) (Wessling, )
Heat and cool modes of operation provide temperature control over a range of -5 to 45 °C with accuracy of ±0.2 °C. The heat exchanger design and optimized pulse interference detector control loop constants provide temperature stability of 0.1 °C at the water outlet. Standard features include a removable front panel for remote control, coolant flow measurement and readout, and external temperature sensing.

The chillers are optimized for protecting high-power laser diodes via multiple normally open and normally closed safety interlocks that are compatible with the company’s high-power laser diode drivers. The interlocks will change states in the event of loss of flow, over temperature limit, and if the chiller output is disabled.

Front panel fault indicators and an audible alarm identify low reservoir, over temperature limit and loss of flow. For easy integration into automated test applications, the chillers are supplied with a USB 2.0 interface and a front panel USB graphical user interface. A variable speed fan ensures quiet operation.

The chillers are CE- and RoHS-compliant.
