Lantech Communications Europe GmbH ist Mitglied im Verband der "Deutschen Schiffsausrüster" und auch Mitglied im internationalen Verband der ISSA (International Ship Suppliers Association).

Diese Netzwerkanwendungen kann man in zwei Kategorien teilen: - On-Shore und Off-Shore. On-Shore Anwendungen beinhalten z.B. Leuchtturmüberwachung, Windenergie Kontroll- und Überwachungssysteme sowie Gezeitenkraftwerks Kontroll- und Überwachungssysteme. Offshore Anwendungen sind beispielsweise Ölplattformen, Kriegsschiffe, Yachten und Kreuzfahrtschiffe.

Die Herausforderungen dieser speziellen Anwendungen zu meistern, bedeutet die Einhaltung aller technischen Grenzwerte trotz der sehr rauen Umgebungsbedingungen einzuhalten. Dies sind zum Beispiel extreme Temperaturbedingungen, Nebel, Erosion, Schockwellen und extreme Vibrationen. Aber auch hohe elektromagnetische Einflüsse können ein Schiff unbrauchbar machen, wenn davon Navigationssysteme oder sonstige elektronische Ausrüstungen betroffen sind.

Lantech's "Marine" Series Industrial Switches wurden entworfen, um diese Herausforderungen zu meistern. Unter dem Aspekt der völlig unterschiedlichen Nutzungen unter Extrembedingungen können nur Industrie-Switche mit DNV Klassifikation eingesetzt werden.

Aktuell getestete Switche sind IES-0005T-DNV, IES-0008T-DNV, IES-2216C-DNV, IEC-0101FT
