Um dem Missbrauch elektronischer Zahlungsmittel (EC-Karte, Kreditkarte) vorzubeugen, unterliegt die IT-Infrastruktur im Einzelhandel strengsten Sicherheitsanforderungen. Diese im PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) definierten Anforderungen müssen durchgängig von allen verwendeten Systemen und Einzelkomponenten erfüllt werden.

Eine Kernforderung des PCI DSS ist die Unterstützung eines "Triple A"-Verfahrens - Authentifizierung, Autorisierung, Accounting - durch alle Geräte. Dieses stellt sicher, dass nur eindeutig authentifizierte Benutzer Zugriff auf die Komponenten haben, jedem User spezifische Rechte zugewiesen werden können und alle Aktionen aufgezeichnet werden und damit nachvollziehbar sind.

PCI DSSkonforme LAN-, WLAN- und WAN-Infrastruktur aus einer Hand Mit der durchgängigen Implementierung des TACACS+ Protokolls ermöglicht LANCOM den Aufbau einer komplett PCI DSSkonformen Netzwerkinfrastruktur im LAN und WAN aus einer Hand. TACACS+ steht ab Version 7.7 des LANCOM Betriebssystems LCOS für alle LANCOM Access Points, Router und Managed Switches zur Verfügung. Kunden mit älteren LCOS-Versionen können LCOS 7.8 kostenlos von der LANCOM Website herunterladen.
