In Coburg, as in all other cities, LambdaNet cooperates with local telecommunication providers to cover the entire region and to enforce the partnership with local providers.
süc // dacor GmbH, the local Coburg metropolitan area network operator, receives LambdaNet IP Upstream services in order to resell Internet services to their customers using their own regional network. Uwe Meyer, Managing Director of süc // dacor, comments: “We focus on providing local services in our region, with top quality being our primary goal. The connection to the LambdaNet high-speed network allows us to provide carrier-level quality IP services to our end users“.
Furthermore, Telenec Telekommunikation Neustadt GmbH based in Neustadt (near Coburg) has also been connected to LambdaNet backbone. Telenec uses their own broadband cable and fiber-optic network to provide TV and radio programs, high-speed Internet services, and, recently also telephony services. Wolfgang Schubert, Technical Director of Telenec, explains: “Everybody talks about Triple Play today, and providing high-speed Internet access becomes more and more important. The ongoing expansion of the Telenec cable services, based on LambdaNet’s Internet Transit, and the connection to the dense network of one of the leading German service providers, are a guarantee both for us and for our end users to have access to telecommunication services of tomorrow.“
Since 2001, LambdaNet has been offering MPLS-based Ethernet network solutions at 10, 100 and 1.000 Mbit/s all over Germany, based on LambdaNet’s network. 10 G Ethernet technology has been added to the portfolio at the end of 2005. With a transmission capacity of up to 10 Gbit/s, these services are ideally suited for MAN and WAN applications.
