Burkert enjoys an international reputation as a specialist in such commercial vehicle engineering parts as crankshafts, camshafts, cylinder heads, cylinder liners and connecting rods where it is market leader in Europe. In fiscal 2009/10 it generated sales of around €35 million.
Located in the Stuttgart region, the acquiree will continue to operate at its Asperg location, henceforth in the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group's Motor Service division as a separate company under the name of BF Germany GmbH.

BF Germany will have a workforce of some 85. Another 16 employees at Burkert Motoren & Diesel Center GmbH (likewise a member of the Burkert Group) will also be offered employment.
The German Cartel Office has already given the go-ahead for the takeover.
