The KSPG Group with new business structure

(PresseBox) (Neckarsulm, )
The KSPG Group has streamlined its internal management structure and, at the same time, strengthened its central areas of activity. The previously six KSPG AG divisions are now organized into three: Hardparts, Mechatronics, and Motorservice.

"With this new format we are giving our divisions greater operational responsibility and allowing them to strategically focus more closely on their respective businesses," says Dr. Gerd Kleinert, CEO of KSPG AG, commenting on the underlying reasons for the new organization.

Additional benefits from the new structure from the viewpoint of the Group are improved possibilities of organizing processes interdivisionally and further enhancing them. The new organization is also intended to shorten decision-making channels and hence upgrade performance as well as bring about extra flexibility in group activities for the worldwide customers in the automotive industry.

The Hardparts division embraces the development and production of car, truck and large-bore pistons under the KS Kolbenschmidt unit; KS Aluminium-Technologie which specializes in engine blocks, cylinder heads, and structural components; and KS Gleitlager whose business is plain bearings and bushings.

Mechatronics consists of Pierburg GmbH, a specialist in emission control and air management assemblies as well as actuators and solenoid valves for cars and trucks. Also a member of this division is Pierburg Pump Technology GmbH, an international supplier of coolant, oil, and vacuum pumps.

The division Motorservice integrates all the KSPG Group's aftermarket operations for worldwide parts business.

Accompanying these organizational changes is a restructuring of KSPG's management setup. As of January 1, 2012, Horst Binnig has stepped up into the Executive Board where in addition to his duties on the Board he will also head the Hardparts division. With the Group since 1999, Binnig has in the past headed the KS Kolbenschmidt and KS Aluminium-Technologie divisions and so has acquired extensive experience of their businesses.

Mechatronics is headed as from April 1, 2012, by Stefan Knirsch who holds an engineering degree and doctorate; he has over 20 years of professional experience at AUDI AG and Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche Aktiengesellschaft. Most recently he was responsible for Corporate Quality at Porsche.

At the helm of the Motorservice division continues to be Hansjörg Rölle, who has been with the Group since 1986 and in charge of its aftermarket business since 2002. KSPG AG's existing subsidiaries stay as they are within the new divisional structure.
