Rene Gansauge knows Pierburg well, having worked for subsidiaries on various continents for over a decade. A qualified toolmaker and graduate in industrial engineering, he joined Pierburg in 2005 as controller at Pierburg Inc., South Carolina, USA. From there he moved on to the Pierburg headquarters in Neuss, Germany, and then to KSPG Automotive India Pvt Ltd. in Pune, India, as Managing Director. As President of Pierburg US, LLC since September 2013, he has been responsible for all of the North American Mechatronics interests of Rheinmetall Automotive.
As from January 1, 2018, the management team of Rheinmetall Automotive's Mechatronics division will thus consist of Rene Gansauge (Chairman), Jochen Hintze (Finance & Controlling) and Klaus-Dieter Steingass (Human Resources).
The Mechatronics division, which includes the companies Pierburg and Pierburg Pump Technology, generates annual sales of over €1.5 billion and employs a workforce of around 4,600 worldwide. It is the biggest of the Rheinmetall Automotive divisions and specializes in components for emission and consumption reduction on cars and trucks. It has production plants in the Americas, Europe, India, and China.
