Kugler-Womako wins Innovation Award 2010

(PresseBox) (Nürtingen, Germany, )
The German Printing Industry Innovation Award is considered as the most coveted award in this industry and was presented for the seventh time this year. 470 guests were invited to attend "PrintNight" in Stuttgart, Germany last week as the most innovative products in the printing industry were presented with their awards in the three categories of Print Products, Marketing and Technology.

In the category of Technology - Print Finishing, Kugler-Womako clearly outshone all the other entries submitted by some stiff competition and went on to claim 1st place with its EcoBinder, a binding machine that creates a completely new type of binding using 100 percent paper.

"Positioning a new type of binding on the market requires courage - not only from us, but from our customers as well," commented Kugler-Womako Head of Sales, Olaf Wallner, after the Awards Ceremony. "We are absolutely delighted that the jurors picked our paper binding as the winner by far. This motivates us and our customers to continue to consistently implement "green thinking" in the binding sector."

The new paper binding fits in very well with the current ecology-minded zeitgeist and combines not just one, but two unique market advantages: as the only binding made completely of paper, it can be recycled 100 percent - no waste separation necessary - and reflects sustainability, which has also long since become a trend in the binding sector. And what's more: each ring in the binding can be colored individually and printed. Whether with the company logo or slogan - the new paper binding opens up completely new opportunities from the point of view of marketing.

The EcoBinder also has a lot to offer in terms of costs. The paper binding costs less than 50 percent of the material costs for conventional bindings such as wire spiral binding, a very convincing argument in favor of its use in the industry.
