W+D-Langhammer supplied the complete conveyor technology for the displayed line which included a log saw model 184 from Fabio Perini, in line with the new Casmatic wrapping machine model CMW200 for industrial rolls and a LR 02 palletizing robot with two robot heads from W+D-Langhammer. While one robot head with a suction/clamp gripper combination supplied individual empty pallets and interleaves as required the other head placed complete layers of kitchen towels coming from the Casmatic packaging machine on the pallet. This was made possible with the newly developed layer clamp gripper which is able to grasp complete layers. The newly developed and patent pending "Woodpecker" was also in use. This is a special unit designed to separate interleaves or protection sheets in advance.
Fabio Perini S.p.A. also displayed their new corewinder model 236 in line with the flying splice model 323; the innovative anilox roll cleaning system T.I.P. 53 ACE; the revolutionary roll reconditioning process, a novelty by the Fabio Perini Engraving Division, created to re-utilize pre-engraved rolls; as well as the fire extinguishing system SAFE (Swift Action Fire Extinguisher Reliance) for their log saws.
Stephan Schlottoff, W+D-Langhammer's Export Manager, was very happy with the exhibition. "The MIAC and the Open House were a complete success for us. In cooperation with our colleagues from Fabio Perini, KPL Packaging and W+D we were able to demonstrate our strengths in the area of complex automation systems to an international group of experts. Especially the presentation of our new LR 02 linear robot came over very well with both new and long-time customers."
