Digital book production made easy at drupa 2012

(PresseBox) (Wedel / Düsseldorf, )
In a few days, drupa 2012, the world's largest trade fair in the printing sector, will be taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, and promises to be a fascinating event, especially with regard to innovations in digital printing.

For the entry into digital book production, also digital converting is of key importance. Discover the direct and easy way: DCbook from E.C.H. Will, a single sheet converting solution for book block production. At drupa, E.C.H. Will, the global market leader in the converting of single sheets, will be showing its innovative and unique process for digital book production in hall 15, booth C55.

Single sheets mean page one in front and page two on the back: no folding, no turning bars. Speeds up to 300 m/min (1000 ft/min) and an output of up to 12,600 books/hour ensure productivity at the same level as conventional offset printing - and even small runs can be produced efficiently and cost-effectively thanks to fully automated setup processes.

Combined inline or near-line with a digital printing system and binding line, DCbook offers an integrated process from the digitally printed web to the finished book - resulting in a totally new business model for book production. Klaus Aarestrup, Chairman of the Management Board of E.C.H. Will, explains: "With our experience in single sheet cutting, collecting, and handling, we know the easiest process for compiling a book stack made of single sheets. Thus our concept sets new standards with regard to productivity, flexibility, automation, and the minimization of paper waste."

Expandability and configuration options tailored to individual requirements ensure long-term investment protection to easily meet present and future market challenges. With DCbook, the optimization of both production processes and business processes for digital book production is possible.

The modular machine design and E.C.H. Will's experience in paper processing are also the perfect basis for other digital applications, besides the book solution, which can be customized to specific needs and requirements.
