The latest generation of card readers in the chipTan procedure – TAN Optimus in Germany, CAP Optimus for the international market – will be available in the 4th Quarter of 2008 with flickering technology (= new optical interface) as well.

With the flicker code KOBIL, the technology leader for secure online banking, offers an extremely cost-efficient card reader for the end customer market. In Germany the Sparkassen will offer the KOBIL TAN Optimus readers which fully comply with the criteria of Lego usability to their customers this year. Internationally the use of the flickering technology means a plus in comfort at secure data entry within the limits of EMV-CAP.

Offline card readers such as the KOBIL TAN Optimus which use the chipTAN procedure have been developed for private customers of savings bank and banks who mainly use home banking and wish to process their banking transactions mobile. Without installation on the pc the compact and shapely flickering reader from KOBIL can used mobile immediately. The TAN Optimus is a very user-friendly card reader of which the user-acceptance is guaranteed through the new optical interface which enables data transfer from the computer to the card reader within a few seconds. That way any online banking transaction can be done with the card reader by KOBIL easy and secure – at home, at the internet café or at the office. The security for banking customers who use the chipTAN procedure will be completely guaranteed over the network of the banks and their data centers. At flickering the data entry is transmitted from the screen to the reader by an optic interface. The security plus for the TAN Optimus user: as a bank customer he is optimally secured against phishing and Trojans.
