(PresseBox) (Kecskemét/Munich, )
On Friday November 15, the Hungarian Minister for Innovation and Technology, Dr. László Palkovics, officially opened the Night of Modern Factories at Knorr-Bremse Fékrendszerek Kft. in Kecskemét. As part of this series of events themed around Industry 4.0, Knorr-Bremse showcased key tools including its “cobots”, collaborative robots that support more efficient utilization of production equipment.

The Night of Modern Factories series with its focus on Industry 4.0 was originally launched in 2016 by IFKA Public Benefit Non-Profit Ltd. for the Development of Industry. The idea is to provide people with an opportunity to visit the most modern factories in Hungary and learn more about the latest Industry 4.0 solutions, production processes and technology. After the opening ceremony of this year’s event, Dr. László Palkovics, Hungarian Minister for Innovation and Technology, joined visitors on a factory tour at Knorr-Bremse Fékrendszerek Kft.

In his address, Attila Bíró, Managing Director of Knorr-Bremse Fékrendszerek Kft., highlighted the importance of product safety and emphasized the essential role of smart technology, digitization and collaborative robots in this respect. Mr. Bíró also stressed the relevance of Industry 4.0 technologies for suppliers and small and medium-sized enterprises.

During this year’s event, about 150 visitors had the opportunity to discover the manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions in use at Knorr-Bremse Fékrendszerek Kft. Visitors could see for themselves how Knorr-Bremse employees benefit from the collaborative robots that help them perform physically strenuous tasks, for example. They also watched automated guided vehicles (AGVs) at work, transporting goods and materials autonomously. Additive manufacturing processes such 3D printing were also on show. This state-of-the-art technology is used for prototyping and validation. A 3D printer can produce prototypes in just a few hours.
