KISTERS 3DViewStation - intelligent viewing with high savings potential
Sports car manufacturer uses viewer solution and reduces costs of CAD licenses
This savings potential was recognized by a well-known sports car manufacturer, who decided in favor of KISTERS 3DViewStation after benchmarking leading viewing solutions. "With more than 180 functions and the ability to load a complete vehicle within 5 seconds, the optimal candidate for replacing numerous CAD licenses has been found," said the project manager. The 3DViewStation is available as a desktop, web or mobile application, as well as a VR application. Eardly noted that teams from various development departments at the sports car manufacturer use the VR edition not only as a visual component for photorealistic rendering, but also as an analysis tool. “For example, the operator uses the controller to lift a sports car to inspect it from the underside and disassemble assemblies,” he said. “Accessibility, ergonomics and size ratios can thus be experienced live. The 3DViewStation VR edition lets users experience 3D data in virtual spaces with new opportunities for collaboration-especially now during the pandemic.”
With the KISTERS 3DViewStation, it is possible to reduce the number of expensive CAD licenses to a minimum. Without high training effort and much lower cost, more and more employees can be integrated into the product workflow. This leads to more efficiency, time savings and error prevention.

According to Eardly, KISTERS 3DViewStation is continuously enhanced in response to customer needs and requirements. It is available as Desktop, VR-Edition and HTML5 WebViewer product-versions plus the online collaboration tool VisShare. All product flavors are intended to be used together with a PLM, ERP or other management system product configuration or service and spare part applications, providing all necessary APIs. For cloud, portal and web-solutions, there is an HTML5-based WebViewer solution available, which does not require client installation.
