In 2019, in line with the topic “Solutions beyond packaging”, Uhlmann presented both its own portfolio of services along with interfaces within the entire value chain. It also displayed the expertise of the Excellence United partners Bausch+Ströbel and Harro Höfliger, whose events also could be attended. The three-day, international exhibition was rounded off with high-calibre specialist lectures. In this manner, the event was very much aligned to the wishes and needs of the visitors.
One of the challenges of the architectural concept was to create a visually cohesive exhibition of the manufacturing hall’s most diverse properties, including a former high-bay warehouse with a staggered level. Instead of hiding the industrial building structure, the structure was used to create a unique atmosphere through the contrast of brand elements and existing installations, as is found in the industrial style.
Through an offset in the room depth, the area therefore became an extraordinary innovation centre: The vestibule of the Digital Lab provided the ambience of a start-up, the staircase became a laid-back communication area, and, finally, the professional, media-supported auditorium made a solid impression. The individual light staging for each room rounded off the targeted communication-initiating architecture.
