In a challenging commercial market environment, the specialists of KBA-Metronic used the opportunity in Dubai to have important discussions and make target agreements with numerous interested parties from the Gulf region. Wolfgang Bremer, Area Sales Director of KBA-Metronic for the region talks about an intensive and groundbreaking exchange of information with the visitors: "The companies informed themselves about how they can differentiate themselves with the waterless printing Genius 52UV and position themselves on the market with exceptional applications. There were many opportunities for us to explain the advantages of our printing systems, especially our Genius 52UV sheet-fed offset printing press. Using numerous sample sheets printed on a Genius 52UV, the exhibition visitors were able to be impressed by the high print quality of the Genius 52UV and the anilox inking unit. The machine operates with four equally dimensioned rollers per printing unit and a central, four times as large counter pressure cylinder to apply the inks hardening using UV drying to the printing substrate. The advantages of this technology are an always optimum, constant ink control and fast makeready times due to automated printing plate feeding and fast "inking up". Only a few sheets of start-up wastage are required until saleable "good sheets". Overall, the Genius 52UV presents a cost-effective solution for small to medium print runs. It prints on plastic such as, e.g. PVC, ABS, PS, PET, PC and on paper and cardboard up to a thickness of 0.8 mm and a maximum sheet format of 36 x 52 cm. In the meantime, the machine worldwide is impressing more than 100 printers, advertising material manufacturers, screen and digital printing companies and other service providers who use it to print their high margin products such as, e.g. mouse pads, displays, envelopes, stickers, advertising media, sales wobblers, lenticular / 3D images, signs and tags and many types of cards in the ISO standard (85.5 x 54 mm) and DIN formats. However, commercial printers also benefit from the advantages of this space saving five colours printing machine as a supplement to their large format printing. With the Genius 52UV, they print on the more sensitive materials such as metallized paper, adhesion or magnetic foils and many other plastic surfaces which the conventional offset printing is not designed for.
