"After testing and comparing the capabilities of competitive routing technologies, we selected Juniper's high-performance routers based on their flexibility, performance, and reliability, as well as the company's strong customer relations and quality of service (QoS)," said Salih Yanatma, Network Manager at IGDAS. "The fact that all of Juniper's routers run on a single image of the JUNOS network operating system is also very attractive, as it streamlines operational cost and simplifies operations, training and management considerably."
IGDAS installed Juniper's J-series services routers at each of its 60+ branch offices that then connect to one of four distribution centers, where Juniper's M-series multi-service edge routers then provide full ATM network connectivity. The deployment delivers a flexible IP/MPLS aware and QoS-supported high-performance network, ensuring that branch offices have fast, reliable and secure access to Enterprise Resource Planning, email, Geographical Information Systems and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition applications located at the distribution centers.
Integrated routing and firewall functionality ensures the security and reliability of online payments and customer data processed over IGDAS' WAN network. The J-series services routers deployed by IGDAS provides up to 600Mbps packet forwarding performance*, supporting IGDAS' plans to roll out IP telephony and video conferencing services, applications that require consistent, fast throughput to maintain acceptable quality levels.
Juniper's M-series multi-service edge routing portfolio combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with support for current and emerging Layer 2 and Layer 3 services. Implementation of the M-series in IGDAS' WAN infrastructure enables the company to consolidate several networks into a single high-performance IP/MPLS network, reducing operational costs without compromising application delivery and branch communications.
"IGDAS relies on a high-performance, reliable and secure WAN infrastructure to deliver applications across its branch network to ensure a consistent standard of service to its customers," said Gert-Jan Schenk, senior vice president of operations, EMEA, Juniper Networks. "Juniper's ability to meet these requirements coupled with our ability to support IP telephony applications provides IGDAS with a seamless, cost-effective and secure branch solution."
