SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH presents new telephoto lens for baseboard cameras at Photokina

(PresseBox) (Bad Kreuznach, )
Schneider-Kreuznach expands its extensive lens programme in time for Photokina 2008 by providing a recalculated, lightweight and compact telephoto lens for size 1 shutters. The Apo-Tele-Xenar Compact 11/350 in Copal 1 meets the demands of ambitious amateur photographers looking for an especially high resolution, lightweight and low-cost lens for baseboard cameras. It can be used with cameras of different suppliers, including the 8x10 inch format.

The lens has a focal length of 350 mm with an aperture of 11. The wide image circle capabilities of 350 mm makes it possible to use the lens up to a format of 8 x 10 inches or 18 cm x 24 cm. Even when fully open, the apochromatically corrected lens, fully symmetrical with four lenses, exhibits excellent reproduction performance and has a homogeneous resolution with a very high contrast at a working aperture of 16 or 22.

Baseboard cameras with short bellows extensions of up to approx. 320 mm can use an accessory lens tube, which shortens the distance between the lens and the camera by approx. 44 mm without mechanical vignetting resulting in a distance between the lens and camera of 280 mm. The back of the tube has a size 3 thread so that conventional lens plates with a size 3 inner diameter can be used.

The delivery of the Apo-Tele-Xenar Compact 11/350 in Copal 1 is planned to start at the end of March 2009. The recommended price is EUR 762.00 (incl. VAT), including a barrel, the recommended price is EUR 820.00 (incl. VAT).
