Seine Erfahrung und sein Know-how aus mehr als 30 Jahren im Bereich der Präzisionsoptik sind integraler Bestandteil der Marke Schneider-Kreuznach. 1994 kam er zur Schneider Optics Inc., der US-Tochter der Jos. Schneider Optische Werke GmbH aus Bad Kreuznach. Zehn Jahre lang überwachte er als technischer Direktor die Objektivproduktion in den Bereichen Industrieoptik, Fotooptik, Film- und Digitalprojektion sowie Filter für die Bewegtbild- und Fernsehindustrie. Seit 2005 ist Singer Vizepräsident der Schneider Optics Inc.
In den exklusiven Kreis der Senior-Mitglieder der SPIE werden ausschließlich Mitglieder berufen, die besonders herausragende Leistungen auf dem Gebiet der Optik erbracht haben. „Es ist, als würde man in die ‚Hall of Fame‘ der Optik aufgenommen werden“, kommentiert Singer seine Berufung zum Senior-Mitglied.
Die SPIE wurde 1955 gegründet. Die Gesellschaft betreut mehr als 225.600 Mitglieder in rund 150 Ländern. Sie organisiert und unterstützt jährlich ungefähr 25 bedeutende Konferenzen, Ausstellungen und Lehrprogramme weltweit. Die SPIE zählt gegenwärtig 320 Senior-Mitglieder.
