Laser 2011: Successful Xenon-Emerald lenses show the way for new applications and new markets

(PresseBox) (Bad Kreuznach, )
From May 23-26 Schneider-Kreuznach are exhibiting the latest news regarding the successful F-mount industrial lens series, Xenon-Emerald. First shown at VISION 2010, the Xenon-Emerald is already in wide-spread use in quality control and other machine vision applications. „The positive feedback of our customers and the success of the product line have made us very proud. In particular the outstanding optical performance and the barely detectable distortions make these the ideal tool for line-scan applications“, said Alexander Stumpe, Product Manager at Schneider-Kreuznach.

At Laser 2011, the company will introduce its new ROHS-conformant band-pass filter and a new sealing method for filters. Also new is the ability to produce polarizing sheet material cut-outs to exact customer specifications. „Our goal is to help our customers to achieve more demanding applications and reach new markets through our products and solutions“, continued Stumpe.

The Xenon-Emerald is available as 2.2/50 and 2.8/100 versions. Both of these fixed focal length lenses stand out due to their practical luminous intensity: 2.2 for the 50 millimeter focal length and 2.8 for the 100 millimeter version. The range of lenses was designed to be particularly robust and compact to meet the high demands of industrial applications.

With the broadband coating of 400-1000 nanometer, these lenses are also ideally suited for use in the visible and close infrared wave length region. These properties make the new F-mount lenses from Schneider-Kreuznach into an all-round lens for industrial applications such as machine vision, quality control, web and surface inspection and line scan.

The F-mount bayonet connector is a standard connection often used in image processing, especially for high-resolution area or line scan cameras with an image circle of 43.2 mm. All lenses in this series can be equipped on request with other camera connectors such as the M42 or the Canon mount.

All the news and expert advice around the Xenon-Emerald series and their application areas can be found at Laser 2011 in Munich from the 23rd to the 26th of May.
