Jenoptik's Defense & Civil Systems division in the 2nd quarter with highest order intake compared with the previous nine quarters

Jenoptik received a major order for radomes of more than 20 million euros

(PresseBox) (Jena/Wedel, )
The Defense & Civil Systems division has been a preferred supplier of military aircraft radomes for international consortia and manufacturers for 45 years. The radomes are used in the Eurofighter, Tornado, TransAll and in the NH90 helicopter. This new order, valued at more than 20 million euros, was placed within the framework of the Eurofighter production, and will thus extend the utilization of the production line through 2014. The order will contribute to sales from 2012. Radomes protect the sensitive instruments found within the front tip of airplanes. Jenoptik's Defense & Civil Systems division operates one of two production lines worldwide capable of the production and radar electric measurement of radomes for the Eurofighter.

Including the order for radomes Jenoptik's Defense & Civil Systems division reported an order intake of more than 70 million euros in the 2nd quarter 2010 and thus the highest compared with the previous nine quarters. In addition, the division received major orders for attitude and orbit control sensors, which are used for the attitude and orbit control of satellites in space. Jenoptik is a worldwide leading company in the field of rendezvous and docking sensor as well as star sensors.

Jenoptik will publish the figures for the 1st halfyear and 2nd quarter 2010 on August 12, 2010.
