Jenoptik has won a multi-million-euro order for the production of complex optical systems in the field of flat panel display equipment. The systems have already been developed by Jenoptik and will be integrated into a new production system. The order was placed by a leading Asian company and will be delivered in 2012.

"This order is a further milestone in Jenoptik's systematic internationalization strategy in Asia and shows that we are able to make increasingly significant local contributions to the benefit of our customers thanks to our more efficient structures," explained Dr. Michael Mertin, CEO of JENOPTIK AG. Jenoptik has intensively driven forward the expansion of its presence in Asia since 2009 and strongly invested in local structures.

With the large-scale order from this new key customer, the Optical Systems division is further strengthening its market position as a development and production partner for customized optical and micro-optic systems in the semiconductor and flat panel display equipment segment.

As Dr. Dirk Rothweiler, Head of Jenoptik's Optical Systems division, stated: "We are delighted by the fact that our customer was not only impressed by our technological solution expertise in the integration of complex optical systems but also by our capability to meet the delivery deadlines scheduled for 2012 thanks to our proven ramp-up and volume capabilities."
