Jenoptik showcases its latest traffic safety systems at Intertraffic in Amsterdam

3D Tracking Radar is the new product highlight

(PresseBox) (Jena, )
This week the Traffic Solutions division will be exhibiting for the first time under the Jenoptik brand at the most important headline trade fair for the traffic sector, Intertraffic in Amsterdam. In addition to the latest systems covering every aspect of traffic safety, the Optical Systems division will also be presenting LED lighting concepts.

The highlight of the trade fair is the new 3D Tracking Radar for traffic monitoring. This innovative sensor system used for recording speed limit and red light violations tracks several vehicles simultaneously. Thanks to the ultraprecise lane assignment it offers optimum analysis speeds and indisputable evidence for the operator or public sector client. The core technology comes from the automatic distance control solution which is used in the automotive industry. The advanced development of this solution now means it is possible to simultaneously record and track up to 32 objects on different lanes. This pioneering system is a "noninvasive" application so there is no need to install any sensors in the road. This significantly minimizes the installation as well as the ongoing costs.

This technological highlight, launched last year, makes the Jenoptik Traffic Solutions division the pioneer in the global market. The Traffic Solutions division is also launching a new camera technology. The socalled SmartCamera® IV is the integration of two special cameras within a very compact space. Combining these two cameras means e.g. that the video monitoring with continuous vehicle registration recognition plus the photographic record of the infringement can be housed in one extremely compact unit. The division will also be presenting a design study for a new external housing which will shortly be replacing the standard unit popularly known as the "speed camera".

Jenoptik is one of the world's leading providers of traffic safety systems. More than 14,000 of the Group's systems are in operation on roads throughout the world with the aim of increasing road traffic safety. The Group recently announced another major order. In the current year JENOPTIK Robot GmbH will be supplying stationary and mobile systems to a country outside Europe with a total order value of more than 12 million euros.

The Jenoptik Optical Systems division will also be making its debut at the trade fair for the traffic sector. In conjunction with its partners PSI Group/Lumenova, Jenoptik will be showcasing LED lighting systems intended specifically for use in road traffic.

In addition to their high energy efficiency, LED solutions for road, bridge and public space lighting offer advantages in terms of their long service life (longer maintenance intervals) the marked improvement in color reproduction (security) and the ability of the lighting to be adapted to specific situations such as e.g. environmental influences or daylight needs. The Jenoptik Optical Systems division is contributing its knowhow in the development and manufacture of high performance optics as well as its expertise in industrial manufacturing processes.

You will find Jenoptik at Intertraffic in Amsterdam from March 23 to 26 in Hall 1, Stand 416.
