The Jenoptik company in Wedel near Hamburg, Germany, upheld a “silver” total performance rating every month at its customer Boeing over a period of twelve months, from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015.
The aircraft manufacturer has more than 13,750 suppliers worldwide and is awarding 530 of those with the “2015 Boeing Performance Excellence Award” in the categories “Gold” or “Silver”. The Jenoptik Defense & Civil Systems division is one of 423 suppliers receiving the prize in the “Silver” category.
“We are proud and excited about the renewed distinction regarding our product quality and delivery reliability. This award can only be gained as a team and is evidence for the smooth cooperation of various departments within our division. It is an incentive to also earn gold,” says Stefan Stenzel, head of the Jenoptik Defense & Civil Systems division.
So far, Jenoptik has supplied up to a total of 6,000 heated fittings for the Boeing 737. These are standardized connections of the drinking water system in the airplane. They ensure that the water does not freeze during the flight. The Jenoptik company from Wedel looks back on more than forty years of experience in the development of electronically controlled products for de-icing and heating for leading aircraft manufacturers like Boeing.
