Its special features are the extremely wide ranges available for recording temperatures at high resolution. This now means that significant temperature fluctuations can be displayed continually in one step without having to switch between various temperature ranges. This opens up new potential applications for the camera particularly in the field of industrial and scientific research and development.
Series production of the new camera is currently underway in Jena. The Japanese market was the first to respond positively to the new camera where the first preseries camera units are already in use.
Infrared technologies are one the Jenoptik Group's core areas of expertise - both in the field of optical components and systems as well as camera systems for industrial applications, as well as in the area of security and reconnaissance. The product portfolio is continually being expanded by the addition of new applications. For example, the cameras are now also available for aircraft and satellite applications where the main focus is on weather and climate observations.
Jenoptik will be attending the 2010 SPIE Defense & Security Symposium trade fair from April 5 to 9 on Stand 1136 of its partner IRcameras, Inc., showcasing thermographic cameras and giving the VarioTHERM® InSb its debut for the widerange of trade visitors.
