Jenoptik is expanding its laser machine business in both these growth regions. In the 3rd quarter 2014, the Lasers & Material Processing division received several orders with a total volume of over 10 million euros.
International companies in the automotive industry rely on trend-setting technologies and Jenoptik as their long-term partner for production and quality assurance. In the 3rd quarter 2014 this led to a high order intake for laser machines from the JENOPTIK-VOTAN® A product line, which are used to process instrument panels for airbags. Clients, including new customers, are predominantly automotive suppliers from Asia and North America. The Jenoptik Lasers & Material Processing division will deliver laser machines to these customers with a total value of over 10 million euros by the end of 2015. The laser machines will be manufactured in Jena.

The JENOPTIK-VOTAN® A product line makes Jenoptik the world's leading manufacturer of laser machines for the perforation of predetermined breaking points of passenger airbags in instrument panels. This Jenoptik technology has been used to process plastics in vehicle interiors with maximum reliability, flexibility, one hundred percent process control and maximum safety since 1995.
The Jenoptik Lasers & Material Processing division also provides additional flexible technology to the automotive industry: the JENOPTIK-VOTAN® BIM product line enables the efficient laser cutting of 3D plastic and metal components. Last year, this laser machine was awarded the "Vision Award 2013" in the USA as an important technological innovation for the industry.
