The Munichbased iteratec GmbH, an independent software company and consultancy and the provider of iteraplan, the OpenSource EAM tool for enterprise architecture, is making its debut international appearance at the Gartner Enterprise Architecture Summit 2010 in London. This is the fifth time in Europe that the worldleading IT research firm Gartner has hosted the EA Summit, which this year takes place on 17 and 18 May in London. Specifically targeting enterprise architects and IT managers, the event offers an exciting blend of keynotes, case studies and solution showcases, also presents opportunity for networking and onetoone sessions with analysts and solutions providers. iteratec is committed to promoting exchanges of this nature, so is presenting its IT landscape management methodology and best practices at the conference, and looks forward to productive debate with enterprise experts and Gartner analysts.
As well as hearing more about iteratec best practice for EA rollout and modelling - all fully nonproprietary in terms of tool support - visitors will have the opportunity to experience the iteraplan Open Source tool for enterprise architects. Live demos and the opportunity to test iteraplan directly at the Summit will give visitors a taste of just how easy the tool is to work with. Beyond its sponsorship by iteratec, the iteraplan tool lives through the participation of the Open Source community.
In an effort to encourage further community support, iteratec will soon be introducing a wiki to complement its other social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and various online forums. All available documentation will be published on the wiki platform in future, enabling the community to pass it around - which will further intensify the project. The objective is to establish the collaborative OpenSource solution iteraplan as the product of choice.
About iteraplan
iteraplan is the first Open Source tool for Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) and is already in use internationally. It is based on the IT landscape management methodology and bestpractice architecture of the iteratec company. The fundamentals are provided by a range of EAM approaches (Zachman Framework, TOGAF, FEAF), and also by the rich and diverse experience from iteratec consulting projects.
A web application, iteraplan offers a platform for obtaining a helicopter view of the entire IT landscape, and promotes better understanding of how IT interacts and interfaces with the business side of the enterprise. Extensive analysis options, provided by flexible queries, plus a wide choice of configurable diagrams (visualisations) and reports assist users in addressing the areas of concern that matter most in their enterprise.
